Zhao Jin Mai and Zhang Ling He's 'Our Generation' confirms premiere

Our Generation, starring Zhao Jin Mai and Zhang Ling He, has confirmed its premiere for July 14.

The C-drama is adapted from Yun Zhu's novel of the same Chinese name, and tells the coming-of-age story of a group of adolescents.

Lin Qi Le, nicknamed Cherry, grows up in the mountains of a small town under the loving care of her parents — workers at an electric power construction company — alongside her friends Yu Qiao, Qin Ye Yun, Du Shang, and Cai Fang Yuan.

Jiang Qiao Xi, exceptionally gifted yet treated by his parents as a surrogate for his deceased elder brother, gradually becomes part of this small group after transferring schools. Cherry's family's care and affection become a source of warmth for Jiang Qiao Xi.

As time passes and circumstances change, Cherry and her childhood companions drift apart. With a heart as clear and delicate as amber, she begins to taste the bitterness of growing up and steps into a world beyond the shelter of her parents' wings.

Time passes, and the childhood friends from the mountains have grown into teenagers. Reuniting at the provincial experimental school, they support one another through three intense years, and together, they step into a bigger world.

Zhao Jin Mai plays Lin Qi Le, raised in the mountains of a small town under the loving care of her parents and surrounded by the companionship of her friends. Thanks to the strength and security her family provided, both the gains and losses she experiences throughout her growth become rich and meaningful experiences of her journey. For Lin Qi Le, smiling through tears — before they've even fully dried — is simply her way of being.

Zhang Ling He plays Jiang Qiao Xi, the boy who transferred from the provincial city to the mountains. Exceptionally gifted but treated by his parents as a surrogate for his deceased elder brother, who died young, he is introverted and mature, but not good at expressing himself.

Dong Jie plays Zhao Sheng Juan, Lin Qi Le's gentle and caring mother. Amid the hardships of life on the construction site, she provides Lin Qi Le with a warm environment to grow up in and serves as a steadfast support for her bravely exploring the world.

Bao Jian Feng plays Lin Hai Feng, Lin Qi Le's father, and an ordinary electrician at an electric power construction company. Optimistic and humorous, he works hard to provide a comfortable life for his family. Together with his wife, he raises Lin Qi Le, giving her the freedom to explore and grow.

Dong Xuan plays Liang Hong Fei, Jiang Qiao Xi's mother, a woman who looks tough on the outside but is fragile on the inside. Due to the early death of her eldest son, she holds strict, almost obsessive expectations for Jiang Qiao Xi's upbringing.

Zhang Duo plays Jiang Zheng, Jiang Qiao Xi's father, and a manager at the headquarters of the electric power construction company. When transferred to the construction site in the mountains, he brought Jiang Qiao Xi along for a temporary school transfer. Though successful in his career, his family and marital life are in disarray.
Shen Jia Yu plays Qin Ye Yun, a childhood friend of Lin Qi Le's from the mountains and a member of their small mountain band. Outgoing and sometimes a bit domineering, she is the kind of girl who appears strong on the outside but is sensitive and delicate inside.

Wu Sheng plays Yu Qiao, the tallest among the mountain band. His father is the team leader at the construction site, and Yu Qiao has inherited his father's pragmatism, maturity, and calmness. Although he appears indifferent to many things, he is loyal and dependable to his friends.

Ma Qi Yue plays Du Shang, named after his mother's favorite painter. Warm and humorous, he always brings laughter whenever the mountain friends need it. Though often relaxed and easygoing, he also betrays vulnerability and anxiety when it comes to family issues and his personal growth. As a child, he was determined to practice martial arts to protect his mother from domestic violence, and goes on to become a doctor.

Jeremy Zuo plays Cai Fang Yuan, the "happy-go-lucky" member of the mountain band — humorous and approachable, loyal and caring toward his friends. His father is the general manager of the construction site, and he comes from a well-off family. As a child, he loved snacks and reading comics, wasn't fond of studying, but excelled in computer networking technology.

Hu Jia Xin plays Cen Xiao Man, a student in Class 18 at Jialin City No. 1 Experimental Middle School, also a former classmate of Jiang Qiao Xi at the affiliated Experimental Elementary School.

Liu Jun Jian plays Fehringer, a student in Class 18 at Jialin City No. 1 Experimental Middle School, and a former classmate of Jiang Qiaoxi at the affiliated Experimental Elementary  School. Fond of gossip and spreading rumors, he is Jiang Qiao Xi's shadow follower.

Chai Zong Li plays Feng Le Tian, class monitor of Class 18 at Jialin City No. 1 Experimental Middle School — a zealous and friendly boy.
