Kim Nam Gil and Kim Young Kwang dig deep into escalating gun violence in Netflix's 'Trigger'

Netflix unveils new teasers for Trigger.
Trigger tells the story of two men — Lee Do (Kim Nam Gil) and Moon Baek (Kim Young Kwang) — who pick up guns for different reasons amidst the continuous occurrence of gun violence happening as a result of illegal firearms deliveries in Korea, known as a gun-free country.
The teaser gives a glimpse of a new South Korea, once known as a gun-free country. Despite a narration saying, "Thank God Hell Joseon has no guns," heavy gunfire rings out. The bigger problem: there are people who want guns. Illegal firearms disguised as parcel deliveries are discovered, and Lee Do begins to track down their origin.
As he investigates, Lee Do encounters a mysterious man named Moon Baek (Kim Young Kwang), who claims he came to collect a package. He reveals a key clue to the case, saying, "I received a package a few days ago. It had some bullets and an address list." Lee Do teams up with Moon Baek to dig deeper into the case.
Chaos unfolds, and Gu Jeong Man (Park Hoon) is seen holding a gun, declaring that an opportunity has arrived.
As the world plunges into darkness, the question remains: will Lee Do and Moon Baek be able to track down the source of the distribution of illegal firearms? And what choices will those who now hold guns in their hands make?
Director Kwon Oh Seung commented, "Trigger explores how the meaning, use, and consequences of a gun change depending on who comes across it and whose hands it ends up in. Rather than 'how to shoot with a gun,' the series compels viewers to think 'who had to pick up the gun, and why?'"
Co-director Kim Jae Hoon added, "Trigger tells the story of people who, for reasons of their own, come to hold guns in a society rife with hatred and conflict; as well as those who try to arm them, and those determined to make them lay their weapons down."
