Lim Yoon A and Lee Chae Min's time-slip fantasy 'Bon Appetit, Your Majesty' confirms premiere
tvN's new highly anticipated drama Bon Appetit, Your Majesty has confirmed August premiere.
Bon Appetit, Your Majesty follows French chef Yoon Ji Young (Lim Yoon A), who time-slips into the Joseon Dynasty, where she struggles to please the palate of the tyrannical King Lee Heon (Lee Chae Min).
As it gears up for its premiere this August, the drama has unveiled two posters — the "Chef & Tyrant" poster and the "First Royal Feast" poster.
The "First Royal Feast” poster captures Yoon Ji Young from the 21st century and Lee Heon of the Joseon Dynasty meeting across the leap of time in the same era. In the heart of the royal kitchen, where baskets of ingredients and jars of condiments are scattered and cooks bustle about, Yoon Ji Young's pristine white chef's uniform stands out with a touch of incongruity as she focuses on her dish with a confident smile.
Whereas King Lee Heon is shown seated in front of a grand table decorated with the finest delicacies. The phrase on the poster reads, "Let me prepare a royal feast so unforgettable that even a tyrant will remember it for life."
The "Chef" and "Tyrant" posters offer a glimpse into the thoughts of Yoon Ji Young and Lee Heon. The phrase "Until now, I dreamed of becoming a three-star chef… but today, I became a tyrant's chef" hints Yoon Ji Young is in bewilderment after suddenly finding herself in the royal kitchen of the Joseon Dynasty.
In contrast, Lee Heon exudes the authority of a tyrant with the threat: "If, even for a single day, the food does not suit my taste, you will be sentenced to death."
Will Yoon Ji Young be able to satisfy the king's notoriously discerning and sensitive palate?
The K-drama's production team commented, "Just as ingredients with different flavors come together to create a harmonious dish, the synergy between Yoon Ji Young, who comes from the modern world, and Lee Heon, who lives in the past, will deliver a unique flavor." They added, "We are working hard to make this drama like a kind of ‘soul food’ that will comfort viewers and whet their appetites, so please look forward to it."
Bon Appetit, Your Majesty is coming this August. Stay tuned!
